Introduction
& History
No-scalpel vasectomy is a completely
different technique, which has been developed
in China and promoted in the USA. Although
not entirely new, only a small, but increasing
amount of doctors in the UK offer this
method, which is entirely different to
a conventional vasectomy. Back

Compared
to a conventional vasectomy...
In terms of outcome, No-scalpel vasectomy
is as safe as conventional vasectomy.
Extensive scientific work has shown this.
However, it is now the gold standard
because the amount of side effects following
a procedure is greatly reduced, a fact,
which has been proven through an independent
study by Sokal in 1998. This is also
logical if you think of it as a keyhole
approach compared with a standard approach.
No-Scalpel Vasectomy is no more expensive
than a conventional vasectomy. Back

Privacy
and confidentiality combined with Professionalism
and a caring attitude...
We perform your No Scalpel Vasectomy
within premises also used for NHS Services.
We also have a local NHS contract, which
we only received after a vigorous inspection
of our service. Dr Martin Kittel is fully
trained and certified. He is also fully
registered (check
his GMC Registration by clicking here).
We will try hard to make your vasectomy
a happy and non-traumatic experience. Back

Short
waiting list & choice of appointment
Rather than letting you wait longer,
we work harder. We have extremely short
waiting times and want to keep it this
way. We will perform most vasectomies
on a Friday afternoon, thus you are ready
to go back to work on Monday morning**.
We will let you choose between the appointments
available, wherever possible. If we have
a particular backlog we will also set
evening clinics. Back

Information, transparency, communication
& audit
Providing a professional service to us
means to provide you with extensive information
regarding your vasectomy, not only via
this website, but also by sending you
information in advance, which will let
you study the "ins and outs" of
the procedure and the consent form in
detail.
We also spend enough time with you to
answer all your questions during the
initial consulation and your vasectomy.
We audit our performance on a regular
basis.
Do feel free to call my vasectomy support
staff for your vasectomy pack with all
the necessary forms including consent
forms. Thus, you can compare us with
other services and make a decision without
feeling hassled or under pressure. Back

Pain
is not a problem
The vast majority of my patients experience
little or no pain during the procedure.
Some fall asleep or read the paper! Most
patients go home and cannot believe it
was so easy. Back to top
Travel
home right after the procedure
If you wish you can witness the procedure.
There is no need for a prolonged observation
period after your vasectomy, but you
will be provided with contact information
to talk to us if you wish to. Back

Initial
consultation...
We prefer to see you before the procedure,
to examine you and give you a "cooling
off period" to think about the information
we have discussed with you.
However, we understand if you come from
far away and want your vasectomy on your
first visit. We will then organise a "One-Stop-Shop"
clinic for you. Back to
