Quality of Care

No scalpel vasectomy is now the only method recommended by new guidelines on male sterilisation by the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The guidelines have been endorsed by the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Urology. As Member of the British Association of No-Scalpel Vasectomists (BANSV) I practice to these high standars.

Guidelines state "A No-scalpel approach should be used to identify the vas as it results in a lower rate of early complications". They also state "Division of vas on its own is not an acceptable technique, because of its failure rate. It should be accompanied by facial interposition or diathermy." Equally, the use of clips is discouraged because of the high failure rate.

Our technique accomodates all new requirements and you can send your patients safely, knowing that care has been taken to offer a high quality
